EFL Academy is the most comprehensive Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) gym in Greece, providing both professional and amateur training for MMA, Kickboxing, Boxing, Grappling (No-Gi), Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Wrestling, along with housing and managing our own champions of the aforementioned sports on our professional team. EFL Academy offers cutting edge Physiotherapy services provided by our partners, Evidence Based Rehabilitation, state of the art Strength and Conditioning training at our partner fitness gym, Fit Athens, and our own combat sports merchandise line, Golden Fighting Gear.


We started the European Fight League (EFL) in 2010 to promote MMA events and develop the Greek MMA audience base, though we quickly realized there weren’t enough career MMA fighters in Greece to compete in our shows at that time. That’s when we decided to expand EFL and build our own team.

We traveled to Sweden and all over the rest of Europe, the United Kingdom and the United States learning different martial arts striking and grappling techniques, innovative methods for strength and conditioning, and other fighting essentials such as crucial tactics for cutting weight, in order to have enough knowledge and experience to open our first MMA gym, EFL Academy in 2015.

Seven years later, we’ve made it to the UFC and won BIG with Andreas Michailidis becoming the first Greek national, living and training in Greece, to do so.

With continual hard work and dedication, we’ve vastly grown our team and EFL Academy is now a full-service mixed martial arts gym— From classes for beginners to management for the pros, you can find it here.

Now with 22 years of training experience in the fighting industry, our mission moving forward is to continue to transform the status of MMA to a professional sport and a respected profession in Greece with a structured career path for both trainers and fighters alike. As a founding member of the PanHellenic MMA Federation (PMMAF) we are making it happen.
